San Francisco FastTrak: First-timers, good times
Our 27th FastTrak has come and gone. We were back to one of our favorite destinations – San Francisco. And again, we were treated to superb weather and a great time.
Considering the economic challenges of the day, we were happy to draw over 70 people for the 3-day session in San Francisco this week – a majority of whom were first-time trakkers.

We had two presenters from MC² at this trak, your humble author (Using Target Audience Profiles) and Gary Levitt (Transition Planning) both from our Atlanta office.

We are becoming known for our unique Tuesday hospitality events and this time in the “city by the bay” we didn’t disappoint. In fact, the venue was probably the most unique we have found yet. Not four blocks from our hotel is a very unique vessel – not a ship or a boat, but a floating island! The creation of Forbes Thor Kiddoo has a very unique story and you can read it in it’s entirety at www.forbesisland.com. Here are a couple of pictures from the event. A fun time was had by all. Check out Jenna’s blog to learn more about how we found and contracted this very unique space.

I picked up on some conversations during the event, and heard similar concerns – shrinking budgets, more pressure to produce better results, more accountability in every area. This seems to be a constant state of affairs these days. There were also several attendees that were recent promotes to the position of exhibit manager from jobs that had nothing to do with trade shows or events. They were very happy to have discovered FastTrak and the information that is available for their new responsibilities.

We had a couple of people taking their test for the first time. I didn’t realize it, but the initial test taking pass rate is a little less than half. This test is not a “gimmie” at all, so those of you that are coming to Atlanta to take the exam, you better study hard!

And speaking of Atlanta – it’s right around the corner (November 11-13). It’s hard to believe that we are already at the final FastTrak for 2008, but we are. And I won’t give away our hospitality event before Jenna sends out the invite, but it is going to really be fun. It’s guaranteed to bowl you over…

Nuff said… See y’all in Atlanta!
